Artist's Statement: "When I sculpt realistic animalier pieces, I like to add elements of modern art. To achieve this, I alternate textures and use innovative patinas to achieve variations in patterns of light and dark. If you were to view this bison from his tail to his head, he appears to be a mountain range of various forms. By sculpting the bison in the middle of his shedding period, a viewer is compelled to explore his vast hide as if traveling over a landscape" |
